Mario is the global topic leader for customer engagement at Boston Consulting Group. He is also a member of the firm’s Center for Customer Insight and Marketing, Sales & Pricing practice. Mario has extensive experience in helping clients identify demand drivers to fuel growth.

Over the course of his career, Mario has supported clients on all five continents, both in the B2B and B2C spaces. His passion is helping business leaders harness the power of fusing left-brain and right-brain thinking to create economic and social value, and his client engagements cover areas such as marketing strategy, branding, segmentation, and pricing.

Mario has published numerous articles on customer-led growth strategy in scientific, academic, and marketing journals and has been a featured guest on Wall Street Journal TV, Bloomberg, Fox Business News, and Al Jazeera International. He has delivered keynote speeches on customer-centric growth topics for organizations such as the American Marketing Association (AMA), ESOMAR, Financial Analyst Group Europe (CAGE), the Advertising Research Foundation (ARF), the Brazilian Association of Advertisers (ABA), Association of Canadian Advertisers (ACA), and the Association of National Advertisers (ANA).

Before joining BCG, Mario was CEO of Kantar Vermeer, a marketing strategy consulting firm he created within WPP that was named among the “Fastest Growing Firms” by Consulting Magazine. Mario led the expansion of the company in the US, the UK, Holland, China, Mexico, Brazil, Singapore, Japan, Australia, and South Africa.

He previously served as engagement manager at McKinsey & Company in New York, and as cofounder and principal of BBDO Consulting in London.
