Abhay M. Varma is a core leader of Boston Consulting Group's Consumer practice with 20 years of relevant experience with clients in Australia and New Zealand, the US, Asia, and the UK. He currently leads BCG's Retail business in Asia-Pacific, and leads the Consumer practice in the Australia-New Zealand (ANZ) region.

Abhay's primary focus is large scale change, value creation, and capability build. He is an advisor to some of ANZ's leading organizations, and an expert on customer-led reinvention (loyalty, pricing, and omnichannel strategy), digital transformation (personalization and advanced analytics), operating model redesign (role of the center and ways of working), and large scale cost-out (supply chain, procurement, category management, workforce management). In several instances Abhay has also been deployed as the Chief Transformation Officer.

Prior to joining BCG, Abhay spent ten years in industry positions at Unilever and Coles Group (Wesfarmers). He held several P&L, commercial, and strategic roles in merchandising, operations, marketing, and strategy.
