Boston Consulting Group launches Auckland Office

Global Management Consultancy Boston Consulting Group (BCG) Has Made Several Senior Appointments to Lead Its New Auckland office, Allowing The Firm to Partner with Organisations in A Time of Accelerating Change.

Auckland—Global management consultancy Boston Consulting Group will open a new office in Auckland, New Zealand, in early 2022, to meet increasing client demand and to better support New Zealand-based clients.

BCG’s managing partner for Australia and New Zealand, Anthony Roediger, said the move will enable the firm to provide greater support to New Zealand organisations.

“We have had a presence in New Zealand for several decades and have supported some of the country’s leading companies as well as public sector and not-for-profit clients,” Mr Roediger said. “New Zealand has grown exponentially over the past decade, and it is globally recognised for quality and sustainability, which companies are using to compete on the world stage.”

“Over the same period, BCG has grown as the partner of choice on everything from digital transformation and AI to sustainable growth, and in opening our Auckland office, we look forward to bringing our full suite of capabilities to bear to support public, private and not-for-profit leaders as they deal with the challenges and take advantage of the opportunities in New Zealand today.”

BCG’s Auckland office is located in Wynyard Quarter and led by managing director and partner Phillip Benedetti, who is the Head of Innovation and Corporate Strategy for BCG Australia and New Zealand.

Mr Benedetti will be supported in Auckland by a proven senior executive team in premium consulting:

  • Andrew Clark, Chair of BCG New Zealand, who has worked with BCG for more than 30 years across Asia Pacific supporting clients with their most challenging strategic questions
  • Marco Ciobo, partner and associate director, who recently returned to BCG as an industry veteran in digital transformation and technology advantage
  • Richard Hobbs, principal, who also recently returned to BCG with deep expertise in energy and sustainability
  • Esmé O’Neill-Dean, who has returned from BCG’s New York Office and who has deep experience across social impact and people and organisation.

Mr Benedetti said BCG’s presence in New Zealand will allow the firm to support public, private and not-for-profit clients as they navigate a constantly changing environment, one immediately impacted by COVID-19 but increasingly shaped by climate change.

“With Andrew, Marco, Richard, Esmé and the rest of our talented and diverse team, we’re bringing together individuals with expertise and knowledge relevant to New Zealand organisations.”

“Supported by our world-leading global network, I’m excited to orchestrate the best of BCG to deliver value for New Zealand clients. And given BCG’s breadth of capabilities, including strategy, digital transformation, data and analytics, corporate venturing and sustainability – to name a few – I’m confident we’ll create comprehensive, enduring impact.”
