A report by the Boston Globe cited BCG’s Rich Lesser as a driving force in BCG’s efforts to diversify its workforce—a priority of his since he became CEO in 2013. BCG’s Frances Brooks Taplett says Lesser’s efforts have made a difference. She cites the current retention and advancement rates of women at BCG, which are now the same as men’s, as well as the increase in the number of women who are on BCG’s Board of Directors. Lesser’s success is also reflected in Glassdoor’s Best Places to Work For list, which ranked BCG at No. 3 this year. A huge contributor to BCG’s success has been younger men, who have been instrumental allies in creating gender equality at the company. According to a How Millennial Men Can Help Break the Glass Ceiling, “There is persuasive evidence that the most successful gender diversity programs are those that involve men’s participation.”
