The Russia 2025: Resetting the Talent Balance report published by BCG estimated potential consequences of the Russian economy’s transformation into the knowledge economy. Russia is already lagging behind the leading nations in terms of the share of skilled personnel, and unless special effort is made, the situation may aggravate, the authors believe: Russia’s education system cannot cope with the problem unless it is reformed. BCG calls for the creation of 9.2 million jobs for such employees in public and private companies and prepare to retrain 11.6 million people, who would be released in the process of transition to a knowledge economy.
