An article from The Wall Street Journal cites a BCG research survey in which more than 14,000 people in 30 countries shared their opinion on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) by government. The survey results found a consistent concern across all surveyed countries that AI will eliminate jobs. Nations varied, however, on their acceptance of AI. Higher acceptance of AI was expressed in countries with high levels of perceived corruption, suggesting that citizens believe AI could reduce such occurrences. BCG’s Steven Mills explains that the findings confirm theories that were widely believed about AI. BCG plans to conduct the survey every two years to track changes in AI perceptions over time.
