BCG’s Matt Krentz writes in his guest column for Harvard Business Review about the benefits of having a diverse workforce. While BCG How Diverse Leadership Teams Boost Innovation shows that 96-98% of large companies have programs promoting diversity and inclusion, minority groups continue to “see bias as part of their day-to-day work experience.” Another referenced Fixing the Flawed Approach to Diversity by BCG found that most LGBTQ+ employees are “still closeted at work,” so allowing these employees to be more comfortable in the workplace is necessary for their success. Though there are still many ways diversity can be improved, Krentz writes that the most important step is that these programs are executed effectively and employees are able to see the progress.
