BCG’s Dylan Bolden spoke with the Associated Press and CNBC regarding restaurants’ use of third-party delivery companies. While these restaurants want to satisfy the delivery demands of their customers, Bolden states that use of such outside services does not allow the restaurants control over their customers’ experiences or, sometimes, even access to data about what they are ordering. Bolden predicts these third-party platforms will be used sparingly as restaurants try to balance the demand and costs associated with the delivery process.
