We are thrilled by your interest in management consulting, and specifically in BCG. We think you will find that BCG has a great deal to offer you, both in terms of career development and life experience. At BCG Amsterdam, you will be working in a fast-paced, highly motivated and dynamic business environment. Together with our clients, we strive to solve cutting-edge and complex business problems through tailor-made solutions. And with our colleagues, we form a closely connected group who are supportive of each other inside and outside the office.
BCG in Amsterdam was founded in 1993 through a merger with local Dutch consultants Horringa & DeKoning. BCG Amsterdam's first office was situated in a beautiful country house in Baarn. With success comes growth, and when we outgrew the Baarn office we moved to Amsterdam. In 2007, BCG in Amsterdam moved to an ultramodern office situated at the Zuidas in the southern part of town. The Zuidas is an innovative, international business hub within close reach of Schiphol Airport and the historic city center, where you can find many cultural highlights that are worth visiting and some, like the famous Concert Building, that we have actually worked with!
Our Amsterdam office serves both Dutch multinationals and a variety of medium-size companies, institutions, and governmental organizations. Our consulting staff works on projects ranging from corporate development to operations in industries such as consumer goods, energy and utilities, financial services, and technology and communications.
BCG in Amsterdam offers broad possibilities for international experiences, from individual projects abroad to longer-term transfers. We are an active participant in our international Ambassador Program, offering the opportunity to temporarily transfer and gain experience in other BCG offices We also host international project participants and international ambassadors from other BCG offices all over the world, providing a very global atmosphere.
Our office fosters a culture that encourages professional challenges, development, and teamwork. The atmosphere is open, flexible, and lively and leaves room for individuals with diverse backgrounds and personalities. Although we all take our work very seriously, there is also plenty of room for fun. Throughout the year, you can participate in the many activities that BCG in Amsterdam has to offer, such as sport tournaments, a skiing trip, the annual fall outing, and our New Year's party.
When I interviewed with BCG 15 years ago, I immediately knew that I would accept the firm’s offer. BCG felt like a place where people take their work very seriously, but not themselves—highly committed to deliver real impact at the client, but also genuinely fun to be around. It was true then, and it's still true today.
Today, I am still at BCG because I have been able to turn my hobby into my profession. For as long as I can remember, I have loved aircraft and flying. When I became a project leader, I decided to take a step back and assess career options in the aviation industry. Together with BCG, I was able to craft a perfect path toward my current position as a partner specializing in aviation.
In addition to my client work, I am also heading our recruiting team, passionate about attracting the very best talent to BCG. If you are smart, analytical, and driven, I encourage you to get to know us better. Together we will craft your long-term path for success and fun at BCG!
