With operations in Spain since 1979, BCG opened the Madrid office in 1988 to serve the growing number of local client requests for our services. Over the course of these nearly 30 years, the office has steadily grown and blossomed into a dynamic, vibrant work environment full of both opportunities and challenges for BCGers.
Madrid is an important hub for business in Europe, attracting Spain's largest multinationals and companies. Our shared language with Latin American countries has also made the capital a natural link between the South American region and Europe.
We strive to ensure that our employees feel comfortable and happy at work, which is why our social and sports committees actively organize monthly social events, office outings, weekly sports activities, and more.
The Madrid office has maintained a steadfast commitment to nonprofit organizations in an effort to make the world a better place for us all. We have closely collaborated and dedicated resources to organizations such as Save the Children, the Spanish Foundation against Drug Addiction (FAD), the Spanish Cancer Association, and the Prado Museum.
Located in a striking downtown 19th century building that overlooks Madrid's most famous park, El Retiro, the Madrid office provides our professionals with a unique and enriching environment. As part of BCG’s SPAN system (Spain, Portugal, Angola, and Nigeria), the office also benefits from a variety of attractive mobility opportunities. Not surprisingly, Madrid is one of the most frequently requested options in BCG’s Ambassador Program, which offers consultants the opportunity to spend 12 to 18 months abroad.
Working at BCG in Madrid means sharing experiences with some of the brightest minds in business and supporting the most prominent companies in their quest for success. Our staff comes from a variety of academic backgrounds, which enriches our perspective as a company, but we also share certain core qualities: insatiable curiosity, strong analytical and interpersonal skills, and the common goal of making a difference by means of our work, social impact activities, and personal lives.
Today, the Madrid office hosts more than 200 consultants involved in a variety of projects for local and international companies in diverse topics and areas. Our clients are typically large and medium-size companies from a wide range of industries. With decades of experience and functional expertise, BCG goes beyond standard solutions to ensure a sustainable competitive advantage for our clients. This is reflected in the fact that over 85% of our clients return to BCG for later collaborations, and half of them have been working with us for more than five years.
