At BCG in São Paulo, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse, international team. The city has the largest economy, by GDP, among Latin America cities and has a significant political and cultural influence in the country—and worldwide. Our consultants have broad experience working with clients from different industries and backgrounds in areas of strategy, operational effectiveness, organization, marketing, and more.
BCG officially established its office in São Paulo in 1997. The office is situated in an area of economic expansion in the southern section of the city, in the busy business center around Berrini Avenue near multiple companies in different industries.
Our work is focused on multiple industries, including consumer goods, energy, financial services, health care, industrial goods, public sector, and technology and telecommunications—in projects ranging from change management to operations.
BCG in São Paulo is an active participant in a program called “cross office projects,” in which our consultants work on a short-term project (typically fewer than six months) in another country. This is an opportunity to gain international experience without having to relocate. Another possibility is to transfer to another city, to a nearby country, or to another part of the world (typically 12 to 24 months or permanently). BCG’s global footprint gives our consultants the flexibility to change locations according to their evolving needs or goals.
Consultants in Brazil also take advantage of our secondment program, in which selected employees gain experience outside BCG by working for up to a year at one of our private sector clients, or for one of our global social impact partners.
Instituto Ayrton Senna is a leading NGO in Brazil, focused on children’s education. The institute's programs develop innovative social technologies that are implemented, evaluated, and disseminated all over Brazil to offer human development opportunities for children and young people. The programs have had had an impact on more than 6.5 million children in the past 12 years. We have helped them develop their strategy, improve their fund-raising, and increase their reach and impact with Brazilian children.
One of the main characteristics of our office is the collaborative environment. On an employee’s first day, there is a great deal of training available, as well as constant feedback that supports each individual to progress in his or her career. The hard work is also compensated by relaxing and entertaining activities, including a monthly happy hour, an animated end-of-year party, and our enthusiastic soccer and volleyball teams that participate in an international tournament every year, as well as our running team.
I discovered BCG for the first time when the firm held an event at the college where I was an undergraduate. I became excited about the work that BCGers do. After BCG hired me, I witnessed the extremely collaborative climate that exists among the employees, as well as the magnitude of the projects we undertake.
BCG was the right choice for my internship. It is a collaborative place where I could rapidly develop myself by working with extremely competent people. After graduation, I returned to BCG as an associate and, through the help of the extensive network in BCG, I have been accepted as a Stanford MBA! Can’t wait!
I was working at another consulting firm when I joined BCG. BCG does not recruit only people who have the brain power. BCGers are extremely intelligent and competent people, but they also know how to be simple, collaborative, and adaptable.
I came to BCG seeking new challenges and opportunities for development—and found everything I expected and much more! I feel happy to be in a relaxed and collaborative work environment, make great friends, and at the same time generate immense value for our clients. BCG is my second home and family—and I am very proud to be part of this team!
In my last year at college, I decided to intern at BCG because of the diversity of experiences I could have. After joining BCG, I felt integrated into the team and liked the people right away. The collaborative environment of the firm was an essential part of my apprenticeship.
At BCG, there are no two days alike. You are often dealing with something new, sometimes totally unknown. New, challenging questions pop up all the time. Dealing with these questions definitely pushes us out of our comfort zone. It is quite a ride.
I chose to work at BCG mainly because I liked the culture I found here and because of the BCGers I met during the selection process. Even with just a few, short interactions, I could tell that BCG was a special place to work, and I wanted to be part of that.
I came to BCG with the expectation of being part of projects where we would work hard to find solutions for our clients’ biggest strategic challenges. My perception could not have been further from reality. Now, after four amazing years, it is clear to me that BCG is essentially a people business. Everything we do at BCG is about bringing people to do their best.
