Kazumasa Sakurai

Kazumasa Sakurai began his career with The Boston Consulting Group in 1999. He leads BCG's People & Organization practice in Japan, covering a wide range of disciplines including organization design, structure, talent development, engagement, and change management. He is also a core member of the Consumer and Technology, Media & Telecommunications practices at the firm.

Kazumasa has experience in a wide range of industries including Internet media, travel services, real estate services, and other B2C sectors. His topic expertise covers marketing strategy, sales force effectiveness, digital strategy, organization design, and people strategy for B2C. He has also accumulated expertise in supporting Japanese companies’ efforts to globalize through multiple international acquisitions of foreign assets and the subsequent integration and growth of the assets.

Kazumasa has worked with clients on projects such as developing strategies for a large Japanese publishing company—including strategy around magazines and broadcasting—and redesigning the evaluation and compensation systems for an international business. He also recently completed a strategy assessment and management structure rebuilding for the health care business of a large Japanese beverage and food products company.
