The most interesting experience I've had at BCG was helping to redesign the digital marketing strategy for a global retailer. Knowing that my work was going to be seen by literally millions of customers and drive billions of revenue dollars was incredibly rewarding.
To build upon my two years of business school, I knew there was no better place to kick-start my career than by working at BCG. Even though my background is in global B2B marketing, I wanted the opportunity to spread my wings and learn more the challenges facing other industries. So far, I've had the chance to work with clients in apparel, consumer goods, oil and gas, transportation, and the public sector.
At BCG, I truly believe that the company is committed to my short-term well-being and long-term development. With mentorship, learning, and networking opportunities, I am not only performing better on the job but I'm also receiving on-the-job training from some of the world's leading experts on business. I know that my experience at BCG is just the catalyst for future growth and development, and I will be able to leverage these experiences regardless of how my career evolves.
Mitch holds degrees in international business and music from Bradley University and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
Q: What is a typical day like for you?
A: This question is perfect for a BCGer because the answer is simple: no day is typical! And that's one of the parts of my job that I love the most. As someone who put in seven years in a very corporate, traditional job, I realize now that I thrive in an environment that is fluid, fast-paced, and ambiguous. I would say most days include a mixture of client-facing partnering, internal discussions, and team meetings, and quiet time spent ideating and analyzing. But the proportions of those activities constantly change, making each day more interesting than the last!
Q: What inspires you about BCG?
A: I am incredibly inspired by the amazing people I work with, both BCGers and our clients. BCG prides itself in bringing the most talented employees to the table for every project, where we work with some of the business world's most innovative leaders who push us to develop unique and impactful ideas, resulting in positive change for their organizations. The opportunity to work shoulder-to-shoulder with such a diverse, intelligent, driven group of people inspires me to be my best every day.
Q: What groups or organizations have you gotten involved with at BCG?
A: The majority of my involvement internally revolves around the LGBT Network, which has truly become a second home for me at BCG. Originally one of the huge selling points when I was recruiting for BCG, now the Network offers me networking opportunities, amazing mentors, and a chance to give back to make the company even better. BCG continues to be recognized as one of the best places to work, and I am proud of the company’s commitment to inspire me to bring my authentic self to work every day.
