Simon Miller is a core member of The Boston Consulting Group’s Industrial Goods, Operations, and Strategy practices, and he coleads BCG’s infrastructure work in Australia. He is an expert with BCG TURN, which helps clients deliver rapid, visible performance improvements in the short term while strengthening their organizations and positioning them to win in the future.

Since joining BCG in 2007, Simon has worked with clients in a wide range of industries, including building materials, construction, engineering, mining, postal services, transportation, and logistics. He has helped numerous companies undertake major capital projects, improve capital efficiency, and develop growth plans.

Simon’s experience in infrastructure management has covered ports, railways, energy, water, and roads. Much of his recent work with industrial clients has focused on construction productivity, procurement, and major project organization and operating models.

He is also a member of the BCG GAMMA team, which creates competitive advantages for organizations by unleashing the power of signals hidden deep within large and complex data sets. BCG GAMMA conceptualizes, builds, and deploys advanced analytic solutions that can transform the trajectories of organizations in 12 to 24 months.

Prior to joining BCG, Simon held a number of senior roles in the Australian and New South Wales governments, including first assistant secretary of the strategy and delivery division of the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, deputy director-general of the Department of Water and Energy, economic policy director to the premier of New South Wales, and senior policy adviser to the minister for transport and roads.
