Report on Readiness of Indian Industries towards Climate Change Guidelines of COP26

At the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference, or COP26, India bolstered its contribution to build resilience to climate change with ambitious climate commitments including net zero emissions by 2070 and increasing non-fossil fuel capacity to 500 GW by 2030.

It was in this context, that BCG has released its flagship report on climate action in India titled, “Report on Readiness of Indian Industries towards Climate Change Guidelines of COP26.” The report highlights the findings of an extensive survey conducted with CXOs and sustainability leaders across nine industries to evaluate the readiness of Indian organizations to embrace and implement the climate change guidelines of COP26.

The report calls attention to the potential drivers pushing ESG activities across industries, initiatives taken by firms to achieve sustainability goals, underlying challenges faced by Indian industries in achieving their sustainability goals and crucial actions to be prioritized by organizations seeking to become net-zero emitters.
