João Hrotkó is a core member of the Energy, Financial Institutions, Global Advantage, and Public Sector practices at Boston Consulting Group.

Since joining BCG in 2012, João has focused his client work on organization and strategy across an array of sectors, including banking, public sector, and oil and gas. He says of his work, "Working in sub-Saharan Africa offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to help governments and companies achieve quantum-leap improvements in their performance and in their impact on society."

Prior to joining BCG, João was the director of corporate and wholesale at ZON (a telco company in Portugal). He also was an associate principal at McKinsey & Company and a professor of Economics at the University of Chicago and at the Universidade Catolica Portuguesa in Lisbon.
