Trent Reasons joined Boston Consulting Group in 2016. He is a core member of the firm’s Public Sector and Financial Institutions practices, specializing in capital markets. In his role, he helps clients evaluate strategic opportunities and overcome challenges at the intersection of financial services and the public sector.
Trent joined BCG from the US Department of the Treasury where he served as the Director of Analysis. In this capacity, he advised the Secretary of the Treasury, the Chair of the Federal Reserve Board, and other financial regulatory leadership on various financial stability and market risks. In addition, Trent provided significant expertise and guidance on numerous financial policy issues, including housing finance, derivative markets, money market funds, proprietary trading, securitization, and fixed-income market structure.
Prior his time at Treasury, Trent spent 15 years as a fixed income derivatives trader and capital markets business leader at top-tier global investment banks. He began his trading career as a quantitative analyst, developing innovative interest rate and credit derivative products and ultimately led highly profitable trading businesses in fixed income markets.
While at Treasury, Trent was the founding chair of the Systemic Risk Committee and a member of the FSOC Deputies Committee and Treasury Steering Committee. He is a member of the Exchequer Club of Washington, the CFA Institute, and the New York Society of Securities Analysts.
