Embracing New Technologies in Emerging Economies

The biggest trend that exists in emerging countries is that the technologies that fueled the IT sector are now under threat themselves. BCG’s Rajiv Gupta explains how success depends on how quickly an economy can re-skill its workforce.

Rajiv Gupta is a core member of The Boston Consulting Group’s Technology Advantage practice. He joined BCG in 2014.

Rajiv has significant expertise in IT strategy and roadmapping, target operating models involving IT shared services and outsourcing, and program management of large IT enablement programs, such as application deployments. He also has experience advising clients as they move toward greater acceptance of new digitization technologies.

Rajiv has leveraged his significant experience in the digital and technology environment by leading the establishment of the Digital Center of Excellence, an arm of BCG's Digital and Technology Enablement Center, based in India.

Before joining BCG, Rajiv was a partner leading technology-enabled business transformation engagements at KPMG. Prior to that, he performed a similar role at Accenture, with added emphasis on implementation—often within a managed services framework. Rajiv also has experience at GE Capital, where he set up the company’s application and infrastructure hosting and was responsible for the setup of the first-ever remote global network operations center.
