Reiko Akiike is a core member of the Energy and Public Sector practices at The Boston Consulting Group. She is a well-known turnaround specialist in Japan, with a record of successful large-scale turnaround projects. She has also held influential posts on various government committees.
Since joining BCG in 2006, Reiko has worked closely with clients in the energy, utility, infrastructure, and industrial goods sectors. Her recent experience includes business unit strategy and mid- to long-term strategy development and implementation, scenario planning, large-scale turnaround, transformation, procurement reform, and organizational reform. She has rich experience in forecasting the future market landscape using massive data and statistics, and capital investment planning and strategy formulation incorporating scenarios.
Prior to joining BCG, Reiko was a managing director at the Industrial Revitalization Corporation of Japan (IRCJ), a government-sponsored private-equity fund tasked with revitalizing the Japanese economy. She also worked at the Kirin Brewery Company.
