Takashi Horikawa rejoined The Boston Consulting Group in 2017, having previously worked in BCG’s Tokyo office from 2000 to 2004 and from 2007 to 2016. He is a core member of BCG’s Insurance and Financial Institutions practices.

Over the course of his career, Takashi has worked extensively with clients in the insurance and financial services sectors. His recent experience includes leading operational and digital transformation programs; formulating sales-channel strategies including direct sales, digital, agent, and bancassurance channels; rebuilding customer journeys; developing and implementing customer marketing strategies by segments, and assisting mergers and acquisitions.

Prior to joining BCG, Takashi was a business intelligence manager in the life insurance operation of AIG Japan. He also worked for the Sanwa Bank (now The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ), where he was responsible for R&D of derivatives products, and for ING Life Insurance Japan, where he directly reported to the CFO as an actuary.
