Joachim Stephan leads the Technology, Media & Telecommunication (TMT) practice area for The Boston Consulting Group in Germany and Central Europe and is member of BCG's worldwide TMT leadership team. He has advised some of the world's leading telcos, cable MSOs, media conglomerates, pay TV operators, TV broadcasters, magazine and newspaper publishers, private equity investors, and public-sector organizations.

Joachim leads BCG’s engagements with numerous large international clients in the cable and media industries. His expertise centers on growth strategies and mergers and acquisitions, post merger integration, large-scale transformations, digital transformation and diversification, and go-to-market optimization.

Joachim has worked with TMT companies in more than 15 countries. He has particularly deep experience in Germany, South Africa, the UK, the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East. He is also a member of the German Federal Government’s Committee on Internet and Digital Society.

Before joining BCG, Joachim was a junior partner at Oliver Wyman (formerly Mercer Management Consulting). Before that, he worked for Robert Bosch in Kuala Lumpur, as well as Daimler Chrysler and Bertelsmann in Germany.
