Matthias Kruehler leads Boston Consulting Group’s global business for transactions in utilities. He focuses on the global utility industry.

Since joining the firm in Hamburg in 2006, Matthias has built deep expertise in corporate transactions and company transformations. In more than 80 engagements, he has supported his clients in shaping corporate strategies, developing portfolios, professionalizing capital allocation processes, and executing transactions and integration processes.

Matthias is one of the lead members in the firm’s Energy practice in Central Europe and the Middle East, and as such drives the restructuring of the European utilities landscape. For his power and gas clients, he focuses on M&A deals and carve-outs to facilitate the redesign of a company’s strategic focus in order to enable proactive subsequent PMIs, and ensure every invested Euro returns maximum value.
