Jake Leslie Melville is a core member—and member of the leadership team—of the Energy practice at The Boston Consulting Group. His focus is on the upstream oil and gas topic. He leads global marketing activities for the Energy practice.

Jake joined BCG in 2012. He has significant experience across the oil and gas value chain, having participated in multiple projects in upstream, midstream, and downstream processes. He has worked extensively across Europe, Nigeria, the Middle East, and Asia.

Jake believes that to work in oil and gas it is essential to travel in order to understand the varying perspectives of industry players, whether they are large national oil companies in West Africa, the Middle East, or Russia; international oil companies; or service companies.

Before joining BCG, Jake was a partner at Booz, leading its oil and gas business in Europe. He was also a nonexecutive director of the Edinburgh Worldwide Investment Trust.
