Sean Mathewson is a core member of Boston Consulting Group’s Health Care and Strategy practices with experience in strategy, corporate development, and digital and analytics topics. He has also led projects with BCG clients in public sector and social impact areas. Among other topics, Sean has expertise in portfolio strategy, research and development, inorganic growth and M&A, commercial launch in biopharma, and Total Shareholder Return.

Sean’s current focus is on growth and portfolio strategy at leading biopharmaceutical, life science, and medical technology companies. He also works with clients to define and implement digital and analytics approaches in sales and marketing.

Prior to joining BCG, Sean worked in research and development at Genentech. While at Stanford, Sean coauthored a publication on embryonic stem cell protein chemistry, and he is the co-inventor on a patent for biochemistry analysis software.
