BCG Statement on Work in Russia

CEO Christoph Schweizer has provided an update on BCG’s work in Russia.

It is horrifying to witness the impact of the escalating war in Ukraine on millions of people.

Yesterday BCG decided to suspend our work with Russian clients. We have already started to wind down work where possible and will not take on any new work. We will honor our contractual obligations.

We remain committed to our people. Our Moscow office will stay open. Some of our colleagues will continue to support clients outside of Russia. We have initiated and are pursuing temporary and permanent mobility solutions. Our leadership is in daily contact with our Moscow team, and we will review the situation on a continuous basis.

In tragic times, we also see extraordinary acts of kindness. It is heartwarming seeing BCG—especially our teams in Central and Eastern Europe and many other areas—come together to help. Practically overnight they organized to provide food, care packages, transport and shelter to refugees. They are donating blood, and building an online platform connecting refugees with people providing accommodation. We also launched a firmwide matching program for donations to charities providing much-needed support for refugees.

I am heartbroken. Now more than ever we need to come together.
