Christian Schwaerzler serves as the Chairman of Boston Consulting Group's Center for Public Economics and leads BCG’s Economic Advantage of Nations work globally. He is one of BCG’s premier experts on socioeconomic development, industrial policy, and the global flow of investments, talent, and ideas. He is a member of the global leadership teams of BCG’s Global Advantage and Public Sector practices.
Since joining BCG in 2007, Christian has collaborated with both private and public sector clients to define, navigate, and achieve their socioeconomic ambitions, including driving large-scale transformations. His work covers economic policy, government decision making, investment attraction and diversification, local content development, trade, and employment and human capital strategy.
As part of his role as Innovation Leader for the Public Sector practice, he leads the firm's thinking on the impact of AI on economies.
Before joining BCG, Christian worked at L.E.K. Consulting, Siemens, an e-commerce startup, and other consulting firms in Europe, North America, and Africa.
