Southeast Asia’s renewable energy capacity is expected to increase dramatically, with the region’s electricity demand expected to double by 2040, an annual growth rate twice the global average. Solar and wind technologies is set to drive the regional renewables growth, with other pockets of opportunity available as well.
A diverse and complex region, there is no single solution or investment strategy that will guarantee success across the varied markets in Southeast Asia. Investors have to take a country-specific approach which reflects the local landscape, understanding market dynamics and potential for specific technologies.
