Simon Murphy is a core member of the Consumer and Corporate Development practice areas and the Retail topic at The Boston Consulting Group. He has extensive experience in supporting business transformation programs in retail in both Australia and Europe.

In the consumer industry, Simon’s focus is on strategy and operations improvement in the food and beverage sector, and he has worked with both retailers and consumer packaged goods companies. In retail, he worked with a large Australian supermarket on a number of strategy and operational improvement topics, including availability, total loss, supply chain improvement, working capital reduction, and supplier negotiations.

During his time at BCG, Simon has completed two industry secondments—one as Total Loss Operations Manager at Coles Supermarkets, and the other as Program Manager of integration for Courier-Cumberland Newspapers (a division of News Corporation).
