Abel Colaço

Abel Colaço joined Boston Consulting Group in April 2026. He is a core member of the firm's Financial Institutions and Insurance practices, with an emphasis on strategy, performance improvement, and operating model redesign. He is currently active in digital and AI topics, helping clients translate technology investments into tangible business impact. Abel has led complex PMI and transformation programs across Latin America, supporting the top management teams of major national and multinational financial institutions.

Prior to joining BCG, Abel spent 15 years at Bain & Company in São Paulo, including seven years as a Partner, where he led strategy, performance improvement, and operating model engagements for major financial services, insurance, and payments clients across Brazil and Latin America. Before consulting, he worked as a Senior Business Analyst at Portugal Telecom and served as an Assistant Lecturer in Economics at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa.
