Abhay M. Varma is a core member of Boston Consulting Group’s Consumer practice with almost 20 years of experience in consumer goods and retail (grocery, convenience, specialty, fashion and apparel, mass market). Within the Consumer practice, he has deep expertise in large-scale change, and transformations and turnarounds. Abhay has worked in several markets (the US, Australia, the UK, Canada, and New Zealand) including seven years in New York City.

Abhay’s expertise includes customer-led reinvention (loyalty, store format, pricing), category and supplier management (procurement), end-to-end operations (labor productivity, supply chain), and operating model redesign (role of the center, organizational effectiveness). In several instances, Abhay has also operated as Chief Transformation Officer.

Prior to joining BCG, Abhay spent ten years in industry working for large organizations including Coles Supermarkets and Unilever.
