Andrea Ostby is a member of Boston Consulting Group’s Energy, Industrial Goods, and Operations practices and focuses on large-scale transformations, operational improvement, and business strategy.

Since joining BCG in 2007, Andrea has worked extensively with clients on issues related to company performance improvement and the associated change management needed to make those improvements “stick.” Notably, she led the design and execution of a performance improvement program for the unconventional oil and gas unit at an international oil company. She has also worked with a large US utility to design and execute on a $2 billion project management organization.

In addition, Andrea worked with a global aggregates producer to create and implement an operational excellence program, and she helped a global automotive manufacturer implement a $1.5 billion repositioning program.

Before joining BCG, Andrea worked as a chemical engineer at both GE Plastics and Lyondell Chemicals (now LyondellBasell). Her work before joining BCG focused on the areas of manufacturing, project management, and change management, including managing a unionized workforce.

Andrea is an integral part of the firm's Operations Center in Houston, one of ten global operations centers that serve as hubs for comprehensive operations support and offer tailored, fully integrated solutions to optimize operations for long-term success.
