Barbara Thwaites is a core member of BCG Platinion, a division of Boston Consulting Group responsible for steering and securing large-scale system deployments. She has over 30 years of experience spanning a broad range of digital and technology areas, and has considerable expertise leading transformational digital and data initiatives of strategic importance to her clients.
Barbara specializes in end-to-end transformations across industries, including postal and parcel, telecom, public services, travel, transportation, and technology. She brings extensive experience in modernizing legacy systems and overseeing migrations to newer, more efficient architectures. Her work in designing digital and tech operating models helps organizations enhance operational efficiency, while her expertise in IT portfolio management ensures that technology investments are aligned with business objectives.
In addition, Barbara has substantial knowledge of quality engineering and DevOps practices, enabling the delivery of high-quality software at speed. She also brings significant experience in managing outsourced technology delivery services, ensuring optimal performance and alignment with organizational needs.
Prior to joining BCG in 2018, Barbara was Vice President at Intercontinental Hotel Group, where she had global responsibility for all technology delivery shared services.
