Brian Hirshman is the global leader for aerospace and defense at Boston Consulting Group, where he also leads the firm's work in aerospace maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) worldwide. In this role, he partners with OEMs, airlines, MROs (airframe, engine, components), private equity, and public sector clients on transformative strategy and operations improvement initiatives. Brian is a core member of BCG’s Industrial Goods practice.

Brian’s expertise in technical operations has been behind his successful transformation of numerous operations departments, divisions, and businesses. He has also worked with businesses to solve their value challenges in the areas of: fleet strategy and campaigns, direct and indirect sourcing (all categories), large-scale aircraft maintenance transformations, maintenance programs and reliability systems, M&A (due diligence, post-merger integration), cost reduction, and shop floor improvement. Brian is a licensed Airframe & Powerplant Technician.

Prior to his work at BCG, Brian held executive operating positions at three airlines (Southwest, Alaska, Northwest) where he led department-wide transformations that resulted in significant advances in cost reduction, regulatory compliance, and operational performance. He also spent time working for Macquarie and Oliver Wyman.
