Elia Tziambazis is Boston Consulting Group’s global lead for environmental, social, and governance (ESG) in health care in the EMESA (Europe, Middle East, South America & Africa) region. In addition, he serves as global lead for CO2AI, BCG and CDP’s tech platform to enable the exchange of Scope 3 data and accelerate decarbonization within ecosystems. He is a core member of the firm’s Health Care, Operations, and Climate & Sustainability practices.

Since joining the firm in 2008, Elia has supported a wide range of clients within the health care industry. His work with pharmaceutical and medtech companies has included climate and sustainability, manufacturing and supply chain, procurement, working capital optimization, and transformation (including post-merger integration. He has also worked at the government level, and with regulators, payers and providers., driving improved patient outcomes through redesign of patient pathways and clinical practice.

Currently, his work is focused on reducing the impact of the health care sector on the climate and natural ecosystems, as well as operational performance uplift—mainly in manufacturing and supply chain in biopharma and consumer health organizations.

Before coming to BCG, Elia was a general surgeon in the NHS for eight years, specializing in colorectal surgery and a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
