Managing Director & Senior Partner
Eric Oudenot is a core member of Boston Consulting Group’s Energy practice, specializing in upstream oil and gas. He is the firm’s global leader for oil field services and independents.
Since joining BCG in 2011, Eric has worked extensively with major corporations, national energy companies, and private-equity funds on a wide range of strategic and operational issues.
Eric has 21 years of experience in exploration and production and has supported the leadership teams of more than 20 international and national oil companies as well as 15 oil-field-services-and-equipment companies.
His client experience in the energy industry has covered many different functional areas, including global cost reductions, decarbonization of assets and operations, mergers and acquisitions, strategic transformations, performance turnarounds, and target operating models.
Before joining BCG, Eric spent ten years in the industry, working for Total in Iran; BP in the Netherlands, UK, and Angola; and Schlumberger.
Companies that act now to reduce the environmental footprint of their drilling operations can differentiate themselves from competitors and boost their valuation multiples.
Faced with an unprecedented crisis, operators should use a dual approach that supports suppliers and embraces strategic partnerships to build industry resilience.
