Senior Knowledge Expert & Director
François Orain is a core member of Boston Consulting Group's Financial Institutions practice and co-leader of the wholesale banking knowledge team. He is an expert in commercial, corporate, and investment banking with more than 20 years of work experience, both as an investment banker and as a management consultant in Western Europe and North America. Since joining BCG in 2010, Francois has supported clients and cases identifying and delivering value-enhancing insight on operational, financial, and strategic issues.
François is currently concentrating on commercial, corporate, and investment banking topics, in particular: products and coverage for the whole client spectrum (from SME to mid-market to MNC), transversal topics such as top-line growth (share of wallet, pricing, market penetration), operating models (from front office to middle and back offices organization), and operations and processes (credit and onboarding processes, customer centers, automation, IT, and operations).
Before joining BCG, François worked for four years as a structured finance asset manager at Ares Management in London, and before that, at BNP Paribas for seven years on the leveraged finance team.
