Isabel Poensgen joined Boston Consulting Group in August 2019. She is the director of the Leadership Coaching offering, part of BCG’s People & Organization practice (POP). Isabel has over 15 years of experience developing and coaching C-suite executives, senior leaders, consultants, and non-profit leaders. 

Isabel is responsible for building and leading BCG’s executive coaching work in Europe. She is currently establishing and developing a cadre of leadership coaches, composed of senior executives across industries and functions, as well as experienced C-suite business coaches. 

As a coach, Isabel works with individuals and teams to support onboarding in new roles, as well as launching and supporting high-performing teams in situations of change. Coaching topics she covers include adopting and sustaining new leadership behaviors, developing senior presence, stakeholder management, and influence/communication. She has developed a coaching style that is challenging, straightforward and pragmatic, impact-oriented, and compassionate. 

Before coming to the firm, Isabel was Co-founding Partner and Managing Director of Bernotat & Cie. GmbH, a German boutique consulting firm focused on delivering C-suite mentoring. Prior to that, she introduced the internal coaching and career transition offering of BCG Germany.
