Janet Balis joined Boston Consulting Group in October 2024 bringing over 25 years of experience across the media and marketing landscape. She specializes in growth strategy at the intersection of the media, marketing, and technology, and has in-depth expertise in advertising, marketing, sales transformation, and data-driven commercial excellence.

Janet has worked across industries, applying innovative approaches to the media, marketing, and technology landscape, particularly in a landscape disrupted by AI. She serves on the Global Board of the MMA ( a leading trade association for CMOs and media leaders) and teaches at Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs as adjunct faculty.
              
Before joining the firm, Janet played key roles in consulting, including serving as CMO Practice Leader and Global Advisory Leader for Media & Entertainment Consulting at EY. She also held industry leadership roles including Publisher of the Huffington Post and EVP, Media Sales and Marketing at Martha Stewart Living, Omnimedia; as well as executive positions at Betaworks, AOL, and Time Warner.
