Johannes Große focuses on energy and commodity trading and risk management at Boston Consulting Group. Since joining BCG in 2008, he has worked extensively in energy and commodity trading with strong focus on the power industry. He is a core member of the firm's Energy practice, led BCG’s Power and Gas Trading Benchmarking study, and is a founding member of the Commodities Optimization and Trading team.

Johannes has worked along the entire energy commercial value chain, including strategic, operational and organizational topics, covering functional areas such as trading, portfolio management, optimization, digitalization and automation of trading, IT architecture, and risk management. He advises leading clients in utilities, international and national oil companies, mining and metals firms, chemical producers, and soft commodity businesses.

Over the course of his career, Johannes has completed successful projects in more than 20 countries, partnering with some of the most prominent players in the global commodity trading landscape. Before joining BCG, he has worked in quantum field theory as a postdoctoral scientist at Jagiellonian University and a graduate researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Physics.
