Makoto Morihara rejoined Boston Consulting Group in 2019, having previously worked at the firm from 2011 to 2017. In addition to the Tokyo office, he has worked at BCG’s Chicago office. He is a co-leader of the Public Sector practice in Japan and a core member of the Climate & Sustainability practice.
Makoto supports policy development and implementation for central government agencies and local governments, with a focus on growth strategy, economic security, sustainability, and regional revitalization. He also advises corporate clients on domestic and international rulemaking strategy.
From 2017 to 2019, Makoto worked at Aoyama Shachu Corporation. Before first joining BCG in 2011, he worked at Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications.
