Marty Gilbert is an Executive Coach and Senior Advisor at Boston Consulting Group. He works with BCG’s global Health Care practice, and has been an integral member of the firm’s Health Care Systems and Value-Based Health Care teams. Marty also works with medtech and pharma clients, and is a knowledgeable resource on integrated care and big data for payer and provider clients globally. He has worked as an external advisor to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation supporting the development of improved and sustainable integrated care delivery systems in the developing world by focusing on the intersection of the public and private sectors.
Marty’s coaching work focuses on supporting senior executives as they lead their organizations through complex change. He has worked with new CEOs in standing up their leadership teams and adapting their own leadership styles to the new context, as well as directly with leadership teams, helping them execute against their organization’s strategy. He has supported senior executives through difficult merger and acquisition situations. While at Kaiser Permanente (KP), he co-led and co-developed the leadership development program for senior executives in concert with Harvard Business School.
Previously, Marty served as Executive Advisor of Strategic Planning and Performance for the Medical Care Program at Kaiser Permanente. He was Associate Executive Director for The Permanente Federation. He joined KP in 1983 as a pediatric gastroenterologist.
