Masao Ukon leads The Boston Consulting Group’s Industrial Goods practice in Western Europe, South America, and Africa (WESA) Region. He is also a core member of the Corporate Development practice and of the travel, tourism, and airlines sectors.

Masao has extensive experience working with clients in airlines, automotive, and other industrial sectors across topics, including strategy, marketing and sales, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate finance. He has also significant experience helping companies address issues related to large-scale transformations, turnaround, productivity, and operations.

He has coauthored several BCG reports, including Brazil: Confronting the Productivity Challenge and Brazil's Next Consumer Frontier: Capturing Growth in the Rising Interior.

Prior to joining the firm, Masao worked for General Motors, where he held positions in project engineering and in product development.
