Managing Risk in the Face of New Insurance Regulations

Regulations in the insurance industry are changing the role of the board of directors and the risk-management function. Risk has to be managed at the business level, says BCG's Matteo Coppola. Risk-management winners will be those that deal with regulations by embedding risk in the early stages of strategy and planning.

Matteo Coppola is a member of The Boston Consulting Group's Financial Services and Insurance practices. He is responsible for the risk topic in Italy, Greece, and Turkey.

Matteo has significant experience leading transformation programs at banks and insurers, with an emphasis on credit and risk.

Prior to joining BCG, Matteo worked for HSBC North America.
