Maurice Berns chairs Boston Consulting Group's Center for Energy Impact, and leads the Energy & Climate work within the BCG Institute. From 2017 to 2022, he was the global lead for oil and gas.
Maurice joined BCG in 2001 in New York and has worked out of the Kuala Lumpur, Paris, Mumbai, Houston, and London offices. He advises clients on topics including strategy, operations, commercial development, and transformation. His engagements have covered the entire value chain in oil and gas, utilities, networks, and renewables. He is a member of the IBDE Energy Security Advisory Group, and a regular delegate and speaker at global conferences, including the Davos World Economic Forum, ADIPEC, and New York Climate Week.
Before joining the firm, Maurice worked with InterMar Trading in Germany, where he traded physical oil and derivatives, and developed risk mitigations strategies for producers and refiners. Before that, he spent several years with Wintershall in Argentina, where he worked in oil and gas marketing and later in business development, including planning and commercial implementation of natural gas, LPG, and pipeline projects.
