Michael Harnisch a core member of Boston Consulting Group's Tech & Digital Advantage practice. He focuses on large-scale technology-related projects across industries, especially in health care, consumer, industrial goods, and energy. He is part of BCG's European leadership team for large-scale IT programs including enterprise resource planning (ERP), and co-leads BCG’s technology-related efforts in the Principal Investors & Private Equity (PIPE) practice.
Michael's areas of expertise include NextGen ERP/CRM programs, tech/digital transformations, technology in PIPE including technology due diligences, IT carve-outs and post-merger integration, IT operating model design, and digital and GenAI strategy development, and analytics-based use case development (such as supply chain optimization).
Before joining BCG, Michael was a Research Associate at the Center for Digital Communication at the University of Graz. He continues to be active in academia as a lecturer, including teaching tech-focused courses at the following institutions, including the University of Mannheim, the University of Graz, Danube University Krems, the University of Muenster, the University of Applied Sciences Campus 02, and the University of Applied Sciences Joanneum Graz. He is a member of the Engineer Certification Board at TÜV Austria appointed by the Federal Minister of Labour and Economy.
