As a core member of Boston Consulting Group's Insurance practice, Michael Schachtner advises leading firms in the insurance and financial services industries, particularly in large-scale business transformations. He has in-depth experience in integrating (Gen)AI and modern technologies to drive competitive advantage, operational efficiency, and lasting impact. His work spans strategic acquisitions, cost optimization, and future-ready technology design. Michael leads BCG’s technology topic in insurance across North America. He is also a core member of the People & Organization practice and a champion of BCG’s values of diversity and inclusion.
In recent engagements, Michael has partnered with C-level executives to craft world-class AI strategies, transition organizations to agile operating models, and build scalable, future-proof technology architectures.
Before joining BCG, Michael held roles as a researcher, multi-family office professional, and executive editor of the academic journal Electronic Markets. He is fluent in English, Dutch, French, and German.
