Peter Bacon joined Boston Consulting Group in December 2022. He is a knowledge expert managing the firm's international aerospace and defense team in support of global private and public sector clients. He provides insights to inform strategic planning and operational best practices. With over ten years of experience, Peter has specialized in defense, commercial aviation, commercial space, cybersecurity, and general governmental procurement.
Before joining BCG, Peter worked in defense consulting as a specialist for McKinsey & Co. in their aerospace and defense practice, supporting growth strategy and commercial due diligence studies. He also worked as a federal cybersecurity strategy consultant for Deloitte. Before consulting, he worked in strategy and policy execution for the CIO/CISO of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and in defense budgetary analysis at the Harvard Kennedy School’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs.
Peter has also taught on these topics at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, the Harvard Extension School, and Harvard's online education program HarvardX.
