Radka Margitova is a core member of Boston Consulting Group's Financial Institutions and Risk & Compliance practices. She advises chief risk officers, chief financial officers, and bank boards on risk management and AI, and on how the next-level risk organization must look.
Her work rests on close to two decades in risk management experience, from the mathematics of a single rating model to the redirection of a whole risk function. She has built IRBA rating and scoring models with the pricing, IFRS 9 international accounting standards, and validation frameworks behind them; designed stress testing, Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP), and capital planning setups; and taken banks through on-site inspections and model approvals. Building on this foundation, she is currently focusing on AI integration into the risk function. Her work in this capacity follows three lines: the governance of AI risk and its demands on the second line of defense, the use of AI inside the risk function itself, and AI as a risk driver reaching into financial and non-financial risks.
Radka also builds target operating models for risk and compliance functions, including in post-merger integrations, and embeds geopolitical and sustainability risk in existing resilience frameworks. She works with banks, asset managers, and European supervisory and supranational institutions.
Before joining BCG she was a Partner in the Finance & Risk practice at Oliver Wyman, and earlier held leadership roles at PwC and at DZ Bank. She sits on the advisory board of the Frankfurt Institute for Risk Management and Regulation.
