Takashi Horikawa rejoined Boston Consulting Group in 2017, having previously worked in BCG’s Tokyo office from 2000 to 2004 and from 2007 to 2016. He is a co-leader of BCG’s Insurance practice in Japan, and a core member of the firm’s Financial Institutions, and Marketing, Sales & Pricing practices.

Over the course of his career, Takashi has worked extensively with clients in the insurance and financial services industries. His recent experience includes formulating mid- to long-term management strategy, marketing strategy according to customer segments, sales-channel strategy, product strategy, new business development, and assisting mergers and acquisitions.

Prior to joining BCG, Takashi was a business intelligence manager in the life insurance operation of AIG Japan. He also worked for the Sanwa Bank (now The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ), where he was responsible for research and development of derivatives products, and for ING Life Insurance Japan, where he directly reported to the CFO as an actuary.
