Takashi Horikawa rejoined Boston Consulting Group in 2017, having previously worked in BCG’s Tokyo office from 2000 to 2004 and from 2007 to 2016. He is a core member of BCG’s Insurance, Financial Institutions, and Marketing, Sales & Pricing practices.

Over the course of his career, Takashi has worked extensively with clients in the insurance and financial services sectors. His recent experience includes formulating new business development, marketing strategies according to customer segments, sales-channel strategies, building customer journeys, using digital and data, and assisting mergers and acquisitions.

Prior to joining BCG, Takashi was a business intelligence manager in the life insurance operation of AIG Japan. He also worked for the Sanwa Bank (now The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ), where he was responsible for research and development of derivatives products, and for ING Life Insurance Japan, where he directly reported to the CFO as an actuary.
