Tejus Kothari leads Boston Consulting Group's Education, Employment and Economic Development team within the Public Sector practice in North America. He works with governors' offices, state agencies, and university presidents and governing boards on their most complex priorities: setting strategic direction, building the organizational and operating model needed for delivery, and getting to an executable plan. In higher education, he has advised presidents and governing boards on differentiation, financial sustainability, and large-scale transformation. For states, he has worked on economic growth strategy, sector and cluster development, workforce and talent pipelines, and agency structure and operating models.
Tejus was lead author of BCG's assessment of US states' readiness for the AI economy and coauthored its work on AI in higher education.
Based in Chicago, Tejus also leads BCG's Public Sector practice in the Great Lakes. He serves on the Emeritus Board of BCG's Center for Illinois' Future and is a Leadership Greater Chicago Fellow. Earlier in his career he worked in BCG's Southeast Asia system and was part of the founding team of a digital education startup.
